FRRL enjoy helping Library Services create a lively and interesting social, educational and cultural hub at the Library for the community to enjoy. Regular events are organised to entertain and inform covering an eclectic mix of topics for gatherings of ten to 40 folk.

  • May: Saturday 20, 10.45 a.m.  – an exciting new wall hanging for the children’s library will be unveiled during Saturday’s ‘Story Time” session at approximately 10.45 a.m.  Please come along to see this new addition to the library, refreshments will be provided, all welcome.
  • June: Friday 30 – afternoon garden tea party
  • July: Saturday 29  – Rock Abundance ‘Grab & Swap’
  • Summer Holidays: Know Your Place Quiz Trail 2017

Know Your Place 2016 Quiz Trail  – although there are no longer prizes to be won, this fun and informative local walk may still be enjoyed at anytime by children and adults of all ages!

Rock Road Scrabble Club, Weekly: Monday mornings, 10 a.m. – 12 noon-ish: a well-established informal group (continues to meet during school holidays but not on Bank Holidays). Cost £1 per session, which supports the library. New players very welcome, come for the start – boards provided.

Community Gardening: Fortnightly on Fridays 10.00-11.00 a.m. – E-mail FRRL for dates and details.

 ‘The Great War and the people who lived around Rock Road Library’ – Final Exhibition of the 2014 – 2016 project

Closing Exhibition – War-time Hospitals – normal Library opening hours (see below) when the Community Room is not in use.
